West Windsor, NJ-Mercer women’s soccer (4-6-2) season came to a heartbreaking end in the Region 19 Championship game with a 2-1 loss vs Essex (3-6). Essex scored two first half goals and the Vikings were unable to recover from the early goals. Freshman Laura Kucharz (Singen, Germany/Freidrich Wohler Gymnasium) scored the lone Viking goal on a penalty kick with 35 minutes left in the second half. Freshman goalie Celina Oliveira (Villa Praia de Ancura, Portugal/Escola Basica e Secoudario Do Vale Do Ancura) had eight saves in the loss.

Rossville, MD-Mercer women’s soccer (4-5-2) closed out the regular season with a 0-0 tie at CCBC-Essex (6-3-3). Freshman goalie Celina Oliveira (Villa Praia de Ancara, Portugal/Escola Basica Secoudario) had eight saves in the tie.
Mercer next plays in the Region 19 Championship on Saturday, October 28th. The Vikings earned a bye into the championship game and will take on the winner of Essex (2-6)/Lackawanna (0-3) at MCCC at 3:00 PM.

Vineland, NJ-Mercer women’s soccer (4-5-1) battled RCSJ Cumberland (3-1-3) to a 0-0 tie. Freshman goalie Celina Oliveira (Villa Praia de Ancara, Portugal/Escola Basica Secoundario) had six saves in the tie. This is the third straight game the Vikings have held their opponent scoreless.
Mercer will next travel to CCBC-Essex on Saturday, October 14th for their final game of the regular season.

West Windsor, NJ-Mercer women’s soccer (4-5) got another Division II Region win, routing Lackawanna 11-0. The Vikings have won four straight games.
Freshman Fiona Madigan (Dublin, Ireland/Fingal Community College) had a hat trick and assist in the win and freshman Laura Kucharz (Singen, Germany/Friedrich Wohler Gymnasium) added 2 goals and an assist. Freshman Annika Maringer (Asperg, Germany/Gymnasium IB) scored two goals and freshman Victoria Minutentag (Brazil/Escola Pinheiro-AV.Matias) had a goal and an assist.
Freshmen Vivian Kestler (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) and Luana Nascimento (Brazil/Colegio Estadual Do Espiritu) and sophomore Liz Kelley (West Windsor, NJ/West Windsor South) each scored a goal and sophomore Victoria Woodruff (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) added an assist in the win.
The Vikings next travel to RCSJ-Cumberland (2-1-2) for a 4:00 PM on Friday, October 6th.

Toms River, NJ-Mercer women’s soccer (3-5) won their third straight game in thrilling fashion with a 1-0 win at Ocean. Freshman Annika Maringer (Asperg, Germany/Gynasium IB) scored the only goal of the game with under a minute left in the second half off a beautiful cross from freshman Sierra Mitchell (Ewing, NJ/Ewing HS). Freshman goalie Celina Oliveira (Villa Praia de Ancara, Portugal/Escola Basica Secoundario) had 12 saves in the win.
The Vikings will next host Lackawanna (0-0) on Saturday, September 30th at 2:00 PM as they look for their fourth straight win.

Lincroft, NJ-After starting the season 0-5, Mercer women’s soccer (2-5) has won two straight game, beating Brookdale (1-1) 2-1. After a scoreless first half, freshman Carley Krajcsovics (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) scored her first collegiate goal, giving the Vikings a 1-0. The Vikings will look for their third straight win when they travel to Ocean CC (2-0) on Thursday, September 21st for a 4:00 PM game.

Newark, NJ-Mercer women’s soccer (1-5) finally got in the win column following a 7-2 win at Essex CC (0-1). The Vikings were led by a hat trick from freshman Annika Maringer (Asperg, Germany/Gymnasium IB). Sophomore Hannah Worrell (Florence, NJ/Florence Township Memorial) and freshman Natalie Villanueva (Trenton, NJ/Bordentown Regional HS) each had a goal and an assist in the win. Sophomore Victoria Woodruff (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) and freshman Laura Kucharz (Singen, Germany/Friedrich Wohler Gymnasium) each scored a goal and freshmen Carley Karajcsovics (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) and Luana Nascimento (Brazil/Colegio Estadua Do Espirito Santo) each added an assist in the win.
The Vikings next play at Brookdale (1-0) on Thursday, September 14th at 3:30 PM.

West Windsor, NJ-Mercer women’s soccer (0-5) lost to RCSJ-Gloucester(2-1) 0-2 in a hard fought battle in the heat. The Roadrunners had two second half goals after a scoreless first half by both teams. Freshman goalie Maria Eduarda Olindino (Vitoria, Brazil/Complexo Educacional Do Cariri) had six saves in the loss.
The Vikings have a big Region game on Saturday, September 9th when they play at Essex (0-0) at 1:00 PM, where they will look to pick up their first win of the season.

Rockville, MD-Mercer women’s soccer (0-4) lost to Montgomery College Rockville (2-1) 0-2 in the final game of their road trip. Two first half goals put Montgomery up 2-0 as both teams remained scoreless in the second half. This was the second game of the Tom Burchy Tournament for the Vikings hosted by Montgomery College Rockville. The Vikings lost to Harford 0-1 Friday in their opening game of the tournament.
Freshman goalie Maria Eduarda Olindino (Vitoria, Brazil/Complexo Educacional Do Cariri) had six saves in the loss. The Vikings did not have a shot on goal in the game, while Montgomery had eight shots on goal.
The Vikings will look for their first win of the season when they host RCSJ-Gloucester (1-1) on Wednesday, September 6th at 6:00 PM.

Rockville, MD-Mercer women’s soccer (0-3) opened their road trip to Maryland with a 0-1 loss vs Harford (2-0-1) in their opening game of the Tom Bichy Tournament hosted by Montgomery College Rockville. The lone goal of the game came late in the second half (74’) to give the Owls the win. Freshman goalie Maria Eduarda Olindino (Vitoria, Brazil/Complexo Educacional Do Cariri) had 11 saves in the losing effort.
The Vikings will look for their first win of the season when they play host Montgomery College Rockville (1-1) at 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 2nd in their second and final game of the Tom Bichy Tournament.

West Windsor, NJ-Mercer women’s soccer fell to 0-2 on the season following a 0-2 loss vs Harcum College (2-0). Both teams were scoreless in the first half but two late second half goals gave the Bears the 2-0 win. The first goal came with 25 minutes left in the second half and another goal on a direct kick with 15 minutes left in the game helped seal the win for the Bears.
Freshman goalie Celina Oliveira (Vila Praia de Ancora, Portugal/Escola Basica e Secoudario) had an outstanding game with 20 saves in the losing effort.
The Vikings will look for their first wins of the season when they travel to Maryland this weekend. On Friday, September 1st, Mercer will play vs Harford (1-0-1) at Montgomery-Rockville at 2:00 PM and will face host Montgomery-Rockville (1-0) on Saturday, September 2nd at 2:00 PM.

West Windsor, NJ-Mercer women’s soccer (0-1) opened the 2023 season with a 0-2 loss vs Suffolk CCC (1-0). The Sharks had two first half goals including one two minutes into the game, but the Vikings defense held Suffolk scoreless in the second half. Freshman goalie Maria Eduarda Olindino (Vitoria, Brazil) had nine saves in the loss.
The Vikings will look for their first win of the season on Tuesday, August 29th when they host Harcum (1-0) in a 4:00 PM game.
