Head Coach Erin Cahill-Wetzel
Women's Cross Country
4th Season

In the fall of 2010, Mercer County Community College had a women's cross country team for the first time in over 20 years.  Mercer only had 2 runners in their first season as a collegiate program and grew to seven runners in its second year, and 10 runners in its third season.  The Vikings had four All-Region runners each of the past two seasons and the team has qualified for the Division I NJCAA National Championship the past two years.  Cahill-Wetzel is looking to build on the success of the past two seasons as the program continues to grow.

Cahill-Wetzel has an extensive background of personal bests that should motivate her runners.  As an undergraduate at The College of New Jersey from 2000-2004, she ran varsity cross county and indoor and outdoor track.  She was a New Jersey Athletic Conference Champion in Indoor and Outdoor Track in the 3,000, 5,000, and 10,000 meter events and was named to the Division III Atlantic Region Cross Country All-Region Team in 2003.  She competed in the NCAA Division III Cross Country National Championships in 2001 and 2003.  In 2003, she helped TCNJ earn an Atlantic Region Championship and 9th place finish at the National Championships.  She was named to the New Jersey Athletic Conference All-Conference Team in Cross Country and Indoor and Outdoor Track all four seasons of her undergraduate career.  As a high school student at The Hun School, Cahill-Wetzel earned 12 varsity letters in cross country, basketball and softball.

In addition to serving as Head Coach of the Women's Cross Country team, Cahill-Wetzel is the Administrative Assistant for the Athletic Dept at Mercer and is also an Adjunct Professor in the Health and Physical Education Dept.

Cahill-Wetzel earned her Masters Degree in Physical Education from The College of New Jersey in 2006.  She currenly resides in Hamilton, NJ with her husband Chris.
