Mercer women's cross country opened the 2013 season with a strong performance at the DVC Invitational at Delaware Valley College.  The Vikings took 3rd place in the Invitational and had a top 10 finisher with sophomore Diana Taveras (East Windsor, NJ/Hightstown) finishing in 7th place with a time of 28:32 over the 6K course.  Freshmen runners Cai-Cai Hahn (West Windsor, NJ/West Winsdor South) and Hixlayne Cuetia-Rodriguez (Plainsboro, NJ/West Windsor South) both placed in the top 25, finishing in 20th in a time of 30:33 and 24th place with a time of 31:00 respectively.  Sophomore Karizma Brown (Lawrenceville, NJ/Lawrence) 32:01 and freshman Lindsey Vasquez (Hillsborough, NJ/Hillsborough) 32:09 helped the Vikings finish 3rd overall, as Brown and Vasquez both placed ahead of runners from Lycoming College, who took 4th place in the Invitational, 7 points behind the Vikings.
