Mercer women's cross country opened the 2017 season with a sixth place finish at the Del Val Invitational hosted by Delaware Valley University.  Freshman Hayley Baydar (Hillsborough, NJ/Hillsborough) finished 5th overall in the 5K race in a time of 20:52.  Freshman Laura Gould (Burlington, NJ/Burlington Twp.) placed 34th in a time of 22:22 and freshman Olivia Reiss (Perrineville, NJ/Mercer VoTech) was 44th in 23:25.  Sophomore Breanna Santini (Hamilton, NJ/Nottingham) finished in 69th in 26:12 and sophomore Veronica Wise (Burlington, NJ/Burlington Twp.) rounded out the top five scoring for the Vikings with a 77th place finish in 27:22.
