Mercer men's basketball opened their 2016-2017 season with a 81-88 loss to Cecil, MD.  Sophomore John Armstead (Brown Mills, NJ/BCIT-Medford) led the Vikings with a double double, scoring 23 points and pulling down 10 rebounds to go along with five blocked shots.   Freshman Deonte Harris (Bristol, PA/Bristol) had 23 points and 6 rebounds and sophomore Devon Adams (Philadelphia, PA/Samuel Fels) added 11 points.  Freshmen Naseem Brown (Philadelphia, PA/Sankofa Freedom Academy) and Terrence Wong (Monmouth Junction, NJ/South Brunswick) each added 8 points in the loss.
