9-2 Win

Mercer baseball (48-13) advanced to the National Championship game following a 9-2 win over Lansing at the NJCAA Division II World Series.  Freshman Sean McGeehan (Hamilton, NJ/Nottingham) went 2 for 4 with a home run and 3 RBIs and sophomore Sid Kumar (West Windsor, NJ/West Windsor North) was a perfect 4 for 4 with two doubles, 3 runs and an RBI.  Sophomore Nick Dabrio went 2 for 4 with an RBI.  Sophomores Anthony Peroni (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) and Dan Shane (Perkasie, PA/Pennridge) and freshman Alejandro Vasquez (Miami, FL/Miami Coral Park) each added an RBI in the win.  Sophomore pitcher Dennis Brady (Vineland, NJ/Buena) struck out six in eight innings in his eleventh win of the season.  Freshman reliever Sean O'Boyle (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) struck out two in the bottom of the ninth to close out the win for the Vikings.  Mercer will face Kankakee (IL) in the National Championship game Friday at 8:00 PM at David Allen Memorial Park in Enid.
