International Students
Admission Requirements for International Students
Prospective F-1 international students are required to provide MCCC with the following:
Notification of Admission
International applicants who fulfill all of the admissions requirements will receive a letter of acceptance and an I-20 form which you must take to the American embassy or consulate when you apply for an F-1 (student) visa.
If you are transferring to Mercer from another college in the U.S., you are required by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to notify your international student advisor of your departure and to report to the Coordinator of International Student Services at Mercer prior to registering for classes.

Application for Form I-20
Print the International Student Information Form
Submit the form with photocopies of the following if you are already in the U.S. or when you arrive in the U.S.:
- Form I-94 Arrival/Departure Card (both sides)
- the personal identification pages and the page indicating the expiration date of your passport
- the visa stamp page in your passport from your last entry into the U.S.

Financial Certification
The Financial Statement for F-1 Students and the Affidavit of Sponsor for F-1 Students forms must be completed by you, a bank official and/or your sponsor(s) and submitted with proof of financial ability. If you will be living with a U.S. sponsor, the Affidavit of Sponsor Providing Free Room and Board and INS Form I-134 Affidavit of Support (for sponsors who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents) are also required. All financial papers must be notarized. Please read the Rules for Financial Documentation before completing the required forms.
To print any form mentioned in the paragraph above, simply select the form title.
You will need your financial documents to submit to the U.S. embassy or consulate for your visa and to the U.S. Immigration official upon arrival at the port of entry in the United States. The college will return your original financial documents to you with your I-20. We suggest that you keep copies of all the requested financial papers.

English Proficiency
If English is not your native language, you must prove English language competency through one of the following:
A satisfactory score on the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language), with a minimum composite score of 130 (computer-based) or 400 (paper-based). Prospective students applying from abroad must submit an official TOEFL score report to the college. The test must have been taken within two years immediately preceding the requested semester of admission.

Completion of an intensive English language program with grades equivalent to C or better at an accredited U.S. institution. Submit an official transcript to the address below.

All new students are required to complete placement tests in English and mathematics after arriving on the campus and before they enroll in their first semester at Mercer.

Academic Credentials
You must be a graduate of an accredited secondary school having a curriculum equivalent to that of a four year U.S. high school. Official secondary (high school) or post-secondary (college or university) records must be in the original language and accompanied by certified English translations. Photocopies of academic records must be certified by the proper academic official with an original signature or seal.

Immunization Record
New Jersey state law requires full-time students to show proof of immunization against measles, mumps and rubella. Submit this form with a doctor's signature, including office address and telephone number.
Print the Immunization Record form.

Transfer Report
If you are transferring to MCCC from another U.S. school, you need to submit the Transfer Report to the International Student Services office (LB234).
