MCCC Foundation
Mission
The MCCC Foundation is an independent 501C3 Corporation whose purpose is to establish and carry out enrichment activities that support the mission of MCCC and the community it serves. annual reports
Directors
The Foundation's directors serve the college in many important ways and are encouraged to bring to the Foundation their interests, expertise, connections, availability and capability. They are expected to fulfill their role in accordance with the MCCC mission statement.
The Foundation and its members establish goals and objectives annually and long-range to meet the mission of the Foundation in the context of the college's established priorities.
Foundation board members are college ambassadors who seek to develop community understanding and support of the college and its programs and services. They help to identify, screen, cultivate and solicit potential contributors to the college.
Scholarships
Individuals and businesses in the community make contributions to the Foundation to establish scholarships (listed in Foundation scholarships brochure) that support a special purpose, honor someone, recognize an achievement, or remember a loved one through a memorial fund.
Students interested in any particular scholarship opportunities are requested to submit a Scholarship Interest Form by the May 1 deadline.
Students who receive scholarships are honored twice a year (continuing students in the fall and graduating students in May) at convocations.
Events
The Foundation holds two major fundraisers yearly for student scholarships: an annual Dinner Dance Gala, and annual Golf Outing to support student athletes.

Endowed Giving
Contributions of $10,000 or more can be used to establish an endowed fund, which will utilize the interest only
from the principle for projects, programs or scholarships in any given year, thereby preserving the ability to
make future awards from the fund. The interest derives from the investment of the principle amount and is based
on the current market yield. Investments are managed by the Finance Committee of the MCCC Foundation.
Designated Giving
Contributions made for a specific purpose are placed in restricted fund accounts and used only for that purpose.
Minimum amounts of $100 are required to establish and award a designated scholarship in any academic year. In the
case where funds are donated and the amount exceeds the desired purpose for any given year, the remaining funds
earn interest. Designated scholarships are many times created to honor someone, memorialize a special person, or
provide support for students preparing for a certain career.
Unrestricted Giving
Contributions made to the MCCC Foundation for general, unspecified purposes are classified as unrestricted giving.
These gifts are used to address important needs of the college, its programs and its students. Unrestricted
donations for scholarships become part of the General Scholarship Fund which provides awards to students based
on financial need. Priority areas for awarding General Scholarships are identified each year by the MCCC Financial
Aid Office, and are adopted each year through voting action the MCCC Foundation. All General Fund Scholarships are
awarded in the academic year the donation is received.
