Summer Sports Camps

Welcome to Summer Sports Camps! There are 13 different camps full of variety and fun.

The camps are designed for young people between the ages of 7-17. Most camps are held five days a week from 9 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. in the Physical Education building on the West Windsor campus of Mercer County Community College in Trenton, New Jersey. Optional swimming is available from 3 to 3:30 p.m. daily.

Transportation is not provided for campers. Overnight facilities are not available for campers.

To register, mail a registration form and a medical form. Registration will not be processed without a medical form. The forms can be printed from this website.

The camp offers Before Camp Care. This option allows for a 7:30 a.m. drop-off to campers. Before Camp Care participants will be supervised on-site from 7:30 - 9 a.m. during camp days.

An After Camp Care service allows campers to remain on campus until 6 p.m. in a supervised recreational program.

Camper Responsibilities

  • Campers must submit a completed medical form with each application submitted. Registration will not be accepted without a medical form.
  • Campers may bring their own lunches (refrigeration is not available) or purchase meals and drinks at the college cafeteria.
  • Any camper who wishes to use the pool at the end of the afternoon session must provide his or her own swimsuit and towel.
  • Campers must bring their own locks in order to use the available locker facilities.
  • Campers should not bring electronic games or devices.

Cost, Refund Policy

$200 per week ($160 for June 30 - July 3)

Refunds may only be granted when written notice of a camper's withdrawal is received not later than five working days before the first day of camp. Refunds thereafter will be charged a $25 processing fee. Telephone withdrawals will not be accepted.

Sports Camps 2008

Baseball Camp (ages 7-15)
July 14-18 / July 21-25 / July 28 - Aug. 1
MCCC Head Coach Matt Wolski emphasizes techniques and drills for all positions, fielding and throwing, all phases of pitching, individualized hitting instruction. Campers should bring pants, glove, bat, hat and baseball shoes. Sneakers or flat soccer shoes are mandatory for indoor games and for indoor activities during bad weather.

Basketball Camp (ages 7-15)
June 23-27 (boys/girls) / July 7-11 (boys/girls) / July 14-18 (girls camp only) / Aug. 4-8 (boys/girls)
MCCC basketball coach Kelly Williams has developed a program dedicated to helping each camper become a total player. Campers should bring sneakers and suitable gym clothing.

Field Hockey Camp (girls, ages 8-12)
July 7-11
Focus on introducing field hockey skills and game competition. Campers should bring field hockey sticks, eye guards and mouthpieces. Campers' footwear can be sneakers and/or rubber cleats for field turf.

Golf Camp (co-ed, ages 9-16)
June 30 - July 3
Focus on the fundamentals of golf as well as golf etiquette. Campers spend a half day at the college, then bus transport to local driving ranges. One day will be spent at a par 3 golf course. Campers are required to supply their own #9 iron and putter. A "driver" is optional.

In-Line Hockey Camp (co-ed, ages 8-16)
July 21-25 / July 28 - Aug. 1
Focus on introducing in-line hockey as well as skating skills. Campers must bring skates, shin pads, knee pads, gloves, hockey helmet, wrist pads, elbow pads, mouth pieces and sticks. Recommended are shoulder pads.

Lacrosse Camp (boys, ages 7-15)
June 23-27
Focus on introducing lacrosse skills and game competition. Campers must have sticks, mouthpieces, and protective equipment. Campers' footwear can be sneakers and/or rubber cleats for field turf. One mouth piece will be provided for each camper.

Lacrosse Camp (girls, ages 8-12)
June 23-27
Focus on introducing lacrosse skills and game competition. Campers should bring lacrosse sticks, eye guards and mouthpieces. Campers' footwear can be sneakers and/or rubber cleats for field turf.

Mountain Biking Camp (co-ed, ages 8-16)
Aug. 4-8
This camp focuses on some of the fundamental skills required in cross country mountain bike racing as well as the mechanics and general maintenance of bicycles. Campers will learn skills associated with mountain bike racing such as proper body position for maximum balance and control while navigating through narrow trails and terrain. How to properly go over obstacles such as small log climbs. Along with these skills campers will also learn proper racing etiquette as well as how to take care of their bike with some basic maintenance.

Soccer Camp (co-ed, ages 7-15)
June 16-20 / June 30 - July 3 / August 4-8
Expert instruction by outstanding local coaches. Campers should bring sneakers, soccer cleats and shin guards. Sneakers or flat soccer shoes are mandatory for indoor games and for indoor activities during bad weather.

Softball Camp (girls,ages 7-15)
July 28 - Aug. 1

Speed, Agility, Quickness Camp (ages 8-15)
July 14-18
Campers are introduced to the many components of physical fitness and sport performance. Campers should bring sneakers and suitable gym clothing.

Tennis Camp (co-ed, ages 8-15)
June 16-20 / June 23-27 / June 30 - July 3 / July 7-11
Addresses basic strokes, etiquette, rules and scoring for beginners. For more information please call 609-586-4800 ext. 3779. Campers should bring sneakers and a tennis racket each day. Strongly recommended are sunscreen lotion, hat, and a water bottle.

Advanced Tennis Camp (co-ed, ages 12-17)
July 14-18
Emphasizes strategy as well as tactics for advanced strokes for intermediate players. Campers should bring sneakers and a tennis racket each day. Strongly recommended are sunscreen lotion, hat, and a water bottle.
